1. What is a light fixture, exactly?
A light fixture is the complete assembly that holds the light source, connects it to electrical power, and directs the light. The bulb or LED module is not the fixture. A grand chandelier is a fixture; a track of spotlights is a fixture; an LED panel in a ceiling is a fixture. The power supply, the housing, the wiring, and the diffuser are all part of the system. I've read specs that list only the decorative parts and leave out the driver. Then the project gets a beautiful fixture with no way to power it. In B2B buying, the fixture includes the driver. If it doesn't, that's a hidden cost.

A grand chandelier is not one bulb. It's a network of dozens of LED modules, each needing the right voltage or current. A commodity AC adapter can run the total wattage on paper, but it won't survive the heat inside a closed canopy. We took over a service contract where a chandelier had been flickering for weeks. The original contractor used a supply with no derating; the driver was running at 95°C. We replaced it with a Mean Well power supply, specifically an LRS-350-24, plus proper terminal blocks. I've had vendors quote a 'dimmable driver' that was only trailing-edge dimmable, and that's a different animal. For a cost controller, the question is: which control method does the control system support? If your project uses a 0-10V lighting system, buy a driver with 0-10V input.
